Check out this before and after shared with us by Jonathan and George colorist and extension specialist Kazumi Morton. Kazumi’s brand of choice when it comes to extensions is Hair Lingerie. Designed specifically to ensure that the extensions do not damage hair, Hair Lingerie can only be applied by a trained, licensed stylist. The extensions can last up to a year, and the client won’t have to return for 2 months to get them tightened. And the quality, as Kazumi puts it, “is amazing”. Hair Lingerie uses 100% natural human hair and with Kazumi’s color expertise she matches them to each of her client’s hair shade perfectly.

Straight from our color pro Erick Orellana – a natural blonde, or bronde, color transition.
Changing your hair from dark brunette to blonde is never easy, especially when your job depends on your look. This before and after done on model Tiernan Cowling shows her hair going from a dark reddish brown to a beautiful, soft ash blonde. Fortunately we had ample time to do the transformation, as she was in no hurry to do the extreme change so her hair would stay healthy. Achieving this ash blonde was done with a series of 2 different highlight sessions on two different days. I also did not use a color remover prior to highlighting because her hair would have not been able to withstand too much chemical processing. At the end I just used a little toner and a gloss to even out the color and add lots of shine.
The result: A beautiful natural blonde, or a true bronde!
Encouraged by last week’s popular post from Erick Orellana, the bronde, aka not quite blonde, not quite brunette hair color is definitely trending. Need a great example of a true bronde? Take these pictures to your colorist now! Our ‘model’ model is Ana Beatriz Barros — these pictures are from a few weeks ago at the Cannes 2013 Film Festival. Bronde is a low maintenance hair color that looks naturally stunning.
Another before and after proving yet again why Kazumi Morton is the ‘brunette master’. Wanting to get rid of the auburn and warmer hues that were showing throughout her client’s base, Kazumi transforms her client’s hair to a new, natural brunette shade with sun-kissed ends.

We don’t think the ombre hair trend is going anywhere, however, it is refreshing to see clients come in to the salon looking for a healthy, all over natural color versus the faded end trend. Color by Kazumi Morton, with long layered cut and style by Melissa Stone.

For a colorist, there’s nothing quite like meeting a new client with a ‘virgin’ head of hair. Highlights are, well, a great way to highlight your natural shade. It’s you, only better. Sunkissed brunette (and first-time) highlights for this client by Erick Orellana. AFTER

Let this before and after by colorist Erick Orellana be your guide to the difference between an unsuccessful attempt at ombre and an example of ombre done right. Before this client went to see Erick, her ‘ombre’ process had resulted in a streaky highlight at the face only. A real ombre color should be a blend of your natural color that gradually gets lighter at the ends, a result looking as if you had spent the whole summer at the beach and your hair had been lightened by the sun. We love the gorgeous after!
Even if you have long hair, adding in one or two wefts of additional hair can really make dramatic difference. Colorist and extension expert Kacey Welch, who worked on this client, only sources 100%, high grade real human hair (not synthetic), because it attains the most natural look. Stylist Allie Paronelli finishes the appointment with a long layered cut and style, blending the client’s new extensions in with her natural length. AFTER
